“The grant we have received from the city of Elgin’s Cultural Arts Commission shows the commitment and interest form the city of Elgin to support the arts and cultural events” said Margarita Mendoza, festival’s director.

2013 Poster Contest Winner

“When first introduced to the Chicago Latino Film Festival, I was intrigued by the energy and vitality of the previous designs. My inspiration stemmed from the tradition of the sugar skull. I translated the intricate detailing of the skull into a graphic whirlwind of festive color. The typographic message creates the jaw of the skull, incorporating word and image. The goal of this design is to celebrate tradition while adding a fresh interpretation- just as a successful film should do.”
– Jori Cicale
